About the PSCB Program and DiversAbilities

The PSCB Program is funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to strengthen peer support networks and promote community participation. The program builds skills, knowledge, and confidence, helping people understand their rights and navigate disability, health, and community services.

Funded by the NDIS, Empowering Lives Through the PSCB Grant

The Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) grant supported the creation of the DiversAbilities platform.

The platform was developed in response to lived experience shared by people with disability, families, and carers who needed clearer information, stronger peer connections, and easier ways to access services.

By fostering self-advocacy and community connection, the PSCB grant enables participants to build confidence, understand their rights, and make informed choices about supports and services.

The DiversAbilities platform

It brings together peer support, learning opportunities, community activities, and service information in one accessible place. The platform supports people with disability, families, and carers to connect, learn, and participate in their community with confidence.

The platform does not replace services.
It helps people understand options, find supports, and make informed decisions.

Mission

What we aim to do

DiversAbilities exists to build capacity, confidence, and connection for people with disabilities, their families, and carers — with a strong focus on culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. We work alongside people with lived experience to reduce barriers, strengthen self-advocacy, and support meaningful participation in community life. Through accessible information, peer support, and inclusive opportunities, we aim to empower individuals to understand their rights, make informed choices, and navigate disability, health, and community systems with confidence.

Our mission is to:

  • Support people with disabilities to build knowledge, confidence, and self-advocacy skills
  • Reduce isolation by creating safe, inclusive spaces for peer connection and shared experiences
  • Improve access to disability, health, and community services through clear, accessible information
  • Strengthen community participation, leadership, and contribution
  • Ensure CALD communities receive culturally responsive, language-inclusive support
  • Promote choice, control, and dignity for people with disabilities in all areas of life
